The emergence of student organizations and unions in schools, colleges and universities has greatly helped to end various forms of dictatorships there and bring in the spirit of democracy. Colleges, schools and universities and their teachers and students have played a big role in India's biggest democratic political movement, i. e. India's Freedom Struggle. Students of colleges and schools have played a big role in saving and sustaining this democracy even when it was in danger like in 1973-75. For example, when Jayaprakash Narayan, who led the opposition movement during the Emergency, asked students to join, college and university students boycotted institutions and joined him! They returned only after the state of emergency was lifted and elections were declared. It is clear from this that the students of schools, colleges and universities and their organizations are very important for India as far as the survival of democracy is concerned.

But a question here is what to do if the democracy in these student organizations and unions dries up, if democracy not only inside the campus but also in the society outside is endangered through them. Since the advent of Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and Pinarayi Vijayan as State Secretaries of the Marxist Party and the principal influencers of SFI in Kerala, this student organization reached that state. In the actions and policies of SFI in whose banner freedom, democracy and socialism are enshrined, the three disappeared. The instant these three disappeared from this organization, it disappeared from the campus, and taking its time has also caused their vanishing from the society too. Though the socialism-part is not needed to be immediately debatable here, the other two are.

The straight solution debatable here is banning the activities of the Students Federation of India in school, college and university campuses for at least five years. Deprived of activity and membership, and removed far ruling authority, it will either learn its lessons or be totally wiped out during that time.
