Many people do believe curses have no effect, but not in Hinduism. Take the life of Monarch Dhrutharashtrar as an example. He was a monarch who had a hundred sons, the eldest being Duryodhana. Before the Mahabharata War he was given the choice of selecting either Krishna or Krishna’s enormous armies for his side. He thought: Krishna is only a single human being like me, but his armies are many. He chose Krishna’s army for him. So Krishna was given to Prince Yudhishdtira or Dharmaputhra. During the war, Krishna recited Bhagavad Geetha- the ultimate divine in war techniques and strategy- in Arjuna’s ear. The essence of his advice was, don’t look at faces and waver in war; only look for where an arrow could be landed; only think about what those enemies did to your people. The Pandavas won and Duryodhana and his ninety nine brothers were killed.

After the war, Monarch Dhrutharashtrar asked Krishna: Bhagwan! I had a hundred sons in my life but all have been killed. Why? Krishna answered: Fifty six births earlier, you were not a monarch but a hunter. When you could not fell a bird, you climbed its tree and killed hundred baby birds. The father bird watched all this sitting in another tree and pined and cursed you. What could it do against a powerful you? So it cursed you so you will have the same fate. Even gods have no protection against a curse coming from the heart when and where it is justified, regardless who you are. But you are lucky for not having to witness all your sons’ slaughter with your eyes. You are blind. You only had to hear about it!

If you ever happen to make use of Hinduism to become an emperor in your life, don’t also ever forget that if anyone among your people or all of them happen to curse you, not one god can save you or alter that curse anyway. No Hindu in power can escape his subject’s curse. That is why Hinduism advises everyone to live above reproof. If you think this is all superstition, know that India is now ruled by superstitious. There are already more than three hundred superstitioners in the Indian parliament… and counting. And do not tell us you believe in Hinduism but not in the power of curses as elaborately described in classic Hindu literature. You cannot now say that by Hinduism you only meant Hindus joining together and voting for another Hindu for a political party and sending him to Parliament and nothing else. No, dear friend, Hinduism has more important things besides selecting and sending representatives. Because you told us in your speeches to return to India’s past and learn about Hinduism, we did just that and learned a few new things which we never knew existed. You cannot now deny Hinduism or its many hidden powers. Or you cannot deny us Hindus either. We are only beginning to learn, so please don’t discourage us. In fact one must be totally blind not to see the thousands of famous and mortal curses Hinduism abounds in. If you yourself fear this power in Hinduism, keep away from it or even abstain from ever again touching it. We cannot turn back at this stage of our learning.

There are clean and sane people in Hinduism and also unclean and mad people. That India is now under a Hindu regime has come to be accepted by the world as a fact and they have also begum to react accordingly. They cannot hide the fact that they are Christian and Muslim countries either. The question is if it is clean and sane people in this regime or unclean and mad people. This question concerns only the Indians because in the other countries’ administrations also there are unclean and mad people. Who are the Russian and American presidents and the British prime minister? What cleanliness and sanity do their decisions and actions have? The Hindus have their national characters- truthfulness, sincerity, simplicity and humbleness the most distinguishably characteristic among them. None of these are reflected in the regime under which India is ruled now. In fact hundreds of incidents and decisions taken by this regime and the very personal, social and political life of the mainstays of this regime go against truthfulness, sincerity, simplicity and humbleness. Instead of citing examples of anti-Hinduistic attitudes, actions and life among them it is better to ask just one example of truthfulness, sincerity, simplicity and humbleness among them to be pointed out for there is none. So the world is left with the paradox of having a Hindu regime in administration in India with none of the national characteristics of Hinduism. This is the first time such a thing happens in the world and they are confused and have yet to decide on the course of action to be taken in matters Indian.
